Sydney Centre for Social Inclusion

Frank StoreyFrank Storey Frank Storey has been with Sydney Community College for a significant part of it’s history, and has lent his skills and expertise in adult learning and vocational educational to a number of different areas of the College over this period.

He is currently the Director of the Sydney Centre for Social Inclusion, which specialises in providing ELLN courses and quality funded programs for migrants, refugees, youth at risk and the disability sector.

The Sydney Centre for Migrant and Refugee Learning is part of the Sydney Centre for Social Inclusion, with four full time staff working on migrant and refugee programs and reporting to the Director.

Refugee Mentoring Program

RubyRubyRuby Madan is the coordinator of the Refugee Mentoring Program (RMP), a pilot program that started at the Centre in 2009.

Ruby joined the Centre in 2009 with significant qualifications and experience in social issues and cross-cultural training and has brought with her a passion for assisting refugees settle into new lives in Australia.

Diversity@Work Awards

The partnership between the SMMP team and The Reed Group has been awarded a 2010 Diversity@Work Award for Employment & Inclusion of Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Australians.

2010 Adult Learning Program of the Year!

In November the Skilled Migrant and Refugee Mentoring Programs received the Adult Learning Australia “Adult Learning Program of the Year” award at the ALA National Conference held in Adelaide.
