This Site No Longer Active

Due to a funding priorities decision by the NSW State Government, the Skilled Migrant Mentoring Programme and the Refugee Mentoring Programme no longer receive the necessary funds to continue servicing clients. We apologise for this. We are leaving this site in place for historical reasons only. Please contact your local State Member of Parliament for assistance.

Sydney Community College

Many skilled migrants and refugees come to Australia but are unable to find a job in their area of expertise because they face barriers such as lack of knowledge about Australian job seeking processes and lack of local industry knowledge or work experience.

The Skilled Migrant Mentoring Program (SMMP) is a free service providing mentoring, training and work experience to skilled migrants and who have recognised professional qualifications from their country of origin.

The Refugee Mentoring Program (RMP) is aimed at providing refugees with the additional support they require to start a new life in Australia, through ongoing mentoring from a volunteer.

These programs are both proudly funded by the NSW Department of Education and NSW AMES.

If you are a Skilled Migrant you can find out more information and register for the program.

If you are a local professional and are interested in helping a skilled migrant or refugee, you can find out more information on becoming a Volunteer Mentor.
